    Aundre Holmes Biography

    Catch the light!

Aundre was two years old when he first realized he wanted to catch the light. He remembers being completely mesmerized by the light bulbs flashing from his father's camera and wanted to capture the light that could turn night into day.

Aundre picked up his first camera in 1969 when he was 15 years old. A Canon AE SLR. Years later he took his first photography class at Orange Coast College in California and initially concentrated photographing black & white portraits because he loved utilizing multiple light sources to capture his subjects. He later began to photograph landscapes because of the beautiful nuances of light they naturally created. Aundre became obsessed by the challenge of capturing the light as he saw it.

Years later Aundre purchased a Nikon Nikormat and began to take road trips to Morro Bay, Monterey and Carmel by the Sea in California. He became an expert at lighting and composition. He took additional classes and began photographing weddings of personal friends and eventually was photographing weddings on location in Las Vegas, Newport Beach and Santa Barbara and was also hired by renowned marine life artist Wyland to photograph him at work and to document his paintings for print.

Aundre eventually began shooting with digital cameras and now shoots professionally for sports events, portrait sittings, landscapes, and more.
